EROCIPS project, first year of life

In November, 2005, EROCIPS with their 15 partners from UK, Spain, France, and Portugal will have been working for a year on the development of an effective and timely response to coastal pollution from shipping accidents.

The project is currently working on the comparative study of regional and national oil contingency plans for all the partners involved in the project; compiling relevant information from past incident; creating a coastal inventory; collecting shipping and port activity data; preparing a shoreline classification; developing a pollution modelling, identifying community stakeholders for the subsequent dissemination of information; and the creation of a communication and dissemination strategy plan.
